(KFVS) - Keep the rain gear handy for the next couple of days.

Cassie Campbell says widespread rain is moving across the Heartland through the morning, and then it will become more scattered during the afternoon.

A few isolated stronger storms are possible this afternoon, with gusty winds as the main concern.

Scattered rain chances remain for Tuesday and Wednesday. Some areas could receive close to 3 inches of rainfall by the middle of the week.

This week’s rain chances should help provide drought relief.

High temperatures are forecasted in the upper 70s to low 80s today and tomorrow.

Temperatures will gradually drop through the week, with highs in the mid-70s and evenings in the 50s by Thursday.
