MADISON COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Madison County dispatch received an interesting call Monday morning.

Sheriff Nic Adams said on September 22, a caller reported that a 4-foot-tall orange penguin statue had been taken from a hotel-museum in St. Louis.

The penguin had a GPS tracker installed, which led Sheriff Adams to its location in Madison County. The statue was safely recovered, and the suspects were identified.

Sheriff Adams said their information has been forwarded to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Currently, no charges have been filed, and the penguin will be returned to the hotel-museum.
