GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A fire shortly after midnight Monday caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a home on Green Bay’s west side.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was called at 12:15 a.m. to the 800-block of School Place, where crews found the porch engulfed and the fire spreading into the main living area.

Firefighters had to pull down ceilings to reach flames that extended inside the house up to the attic.

One firefighter suffered an injury while searching for hotspots after the fire was out, and was treated at a hospital and released.

No one living in the house was hurt. One person is displaced and is staying with family, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire marshal’s office.
