This was nothing new to the 49ers.

A team that simply could not seem to win a close game a year ago, has made the clutch plays in key moments in each of the first three games to open a new season.

“I've just been so proud of the guys in all three games,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said following the team’s 16-15 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.

“All three of those games are games that could have gone either way. We've had to overcome a lot in those games going into them with some injuries and some people we've lost during the games in all three.”
