BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - One man is dead and one minor child is injured after a boating incident on Sunday night at Lake Belton, the Bell County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, around 7:27 p.m., a 911 call for a boating incident was reported at Belton Lake.

Authorities responded to the call and found an adult male and a minor male child involved in the incident.

The sheriff’s office says only the victim’s boat was involved and friends of the victims who were also on the lake brought the injured victims to the boat ramp at Temple Lake Park.

The adult was taken to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, and the minor child was taken to Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple.
