For 101 years, the Cleveland County Agricultural Fair has been entertaining, educating and attracting visitors to its midway with all manner of rides, food and entertainment.

It is one of the most important annual events in the county with a century of history behind it, capturing both the county's agricultural and textile eras. Many Cleveland County youth spent days picking cotton each autumn to earn spending money for the fair.

Over the course of its history, it has entertained millions of locals and visitors alike.

Fair roots run deep

That first year of the fair, held in October of 1924, drew in more than 70,000 attendees from two states. Now, it is the largest county fair in the state and welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually.
