Canadians are reporting steady household finances even as confidence in the broader economy declines, according to new data from the Angus Reid Institute.
The survey finds only 35% of respondents say the national economy is in good or very good shape, down from 49% in June. Six in ten now describe the national picture as poor (41%) or very poor (20%). The drop follows months of fiscal updates showing larger deficits and revised growth projections by governments across the country.
