NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — A New Bedford scalloper has recently found steady work supporting offshore wind construction.

But with the Revolution Wind project now on hold by the Trump administration, Captain Jack Morris said the move is hurting his business.

"This is insane," Morris said. "Everything was going well with the projects. There have been no safety issues."

The offshore wind development off Rhode Island's coast was about 80% complete until the abrupt stoppage last month.

The move was applauded by many in the fishing industry, but for Morris, these projects have become a lifeline

"This has been a great thing for them, and it's been a great thing for me and the boat," Morris said.
