OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- A former trooper has been identified as one of two arrested in connection with the death of a four-year-old child in Oconee County.
The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) previously announced that former Highway Patrol Trooper Joshua Emanuel Lamar Latimer and Destiny Shay Dionne have been charged with two counts each of unlawful conduct toward a child.
According to the SC Department of Public Safety, Latimer, who held the rank of lance corporal, was terminated from his position with the South Carolina Highway Patrol on September 19 following his arrest by SLED. He was stationed in Troop 3 and had been employed with the agency since January 2017.
