VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A man was arrested in Newport News following a multi-jurisdictional pursuit that started in Virginia Beach Monday morning, Virginia State Troopers said.

According to officials, just before 3:30 a.m., officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2016 blue Honda Civic which was reported to have been stolen.

Shortly afterwards, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as 29-year-old Devon Christopher Reynolds, struck an officer with the vehicle while fleeing the scene. Police said the officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK.

Immediately following the initial incident, a "Be On the Lookout" (BOLO) was issued for the stolen vehicle, police said.
