An area of low pressure off the West Coast is pumping moisture into Arizona. Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the high country today, with just a slight chance for more rain in the Valley. Otherwise, look for partly sunny skies by the afternoon and a Valley high of 99 degrees today.
Drier air and hotter temperatures are on tap for the state midweek, despite the fact that fall technically starts today with the autumnal equinox. High pressure briefly building in Tuesday and Wednesday will bring sunshine and Valley high temperatures near 104 degrees on Tuesday and 107 degrees on Wednesday.
