East Midlands Airport has announced plans to increase the number of cargo and passenger flights, with major upgrades set to come. New commercial director Adam Andrews revealed that talks were already "actively underway" with airlines.

A key focus of Mr Andrew's plans will be to link East Midlands Airport to a "major hub" airport in Europe to give passengers a one-stop connection to more destination s. This would enable travellers heading to destinations further away to depart from their local airport instead of having to travel across the country for their flight.
