The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is facing its most serious challenge in decades after a forensic audit found $34 million in questionable transactions between 2020 and 2024.
Indigenous Services Canada hired consulting firm KPMG to review FSIN’s finances. The report flagged ineligible and unsupported transactions, though no charges of fraud or theft have been laid. The audit raises questions but does not draw conclusions of criminal wrongdoing.
