SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A serious crash in Scottsdale seriously hurt a bicyclist and closed a major intersection Monday morning.

First responders were dispatched to Scottsdale Road and Thunderbird Road , where they found a cyclist with “serious injuries” and transported the person to a trauma center, according to Scottsdale Police.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area as northbound Scottsdale Road and westbound Thunderbird Road will be closed for several hours as detectives investigate.

It’s unclear what led to this crash.
