ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) -- Alexandria police are warning drivers traveling in Old Town to use caution after an incident knocked out power, leaving hundreds in the dark and traffic lights out.
Details are limited; however, police posted on X around 8:45 a.m. that several signals were out after a Dominion Energy manhole incident near Cameron and Fayette streets.
Until the power is restored, police remind drivers to treat all signs as 4-way stop signs.
According to the Dominion Energy outage map, more than 700 customers were in the dark as of Monday morning.
It is currently unknown when power will be restored.
