HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A firefighter was taken to the hospital following a townhouse fire in Howard County on Sunday.

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services said crews were dispatched around 8 a.m. on Sept. 21 for a working fire in the 9000 block of Garden Ranges.

Once on the scene, crews found heavy flames coming from the garage and spreading to the first and second floors of the townhome.

Firefighters searched the home, but did not find anyone.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
