KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — I-275 is scheduled to be closed over the weekend while crews work to replace a bridge in Knoxville, a spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Transportation said.
From 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, crews are scheduled to work on replacing a bridge over Elm Street and Bernard Avenue. During this time, the bridge will be closed in both directions, as it was during two weekends in July. TDOT said this is the last weekend I-275 will be closed in this area.
Drivers can bypass the area using I-40 and I-640, TDOT said. It added that the project employs Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques.
