The closure will start at 7 p.m. Friday and will stay in place until 6 a.m. Monday. It’s the third and final weekend the interstate will close.

The project has been ongoing for weeks, with I-275 being closed for two weekends in July. Crews have been using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques, TDOT said, to replace the bridge. Those techniques are aimed at getting the bridge fixed up quickly and cheaply.

TDOT said those in the area can take I-40 or I-640 as an alternative.
