On Saturday, Sep. 20, New York state police in Rhinebeck, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, arrested a 13-year-old from Port Ewen on a charge of making a threat of mass harm, classified as a class B misdemeanor.
The arrest followed a report received the previous day, Sep. 19, indicating that a student at Astor Services had allegedly made threats targeting the school after a disciplinary issue. Astor Services, located at 6339 Mill Street in the Village of Rhinebeck, provides mental health and educational support for children and families.
The juvenile was released with a family court appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Dutchess County family court. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Tags: members
