Crews worked all day Sunday and through the night into Monday in the search for a missing boy in the Crowsnest Pass.

Darius Macdougall was last seen walking with his family four kilometres south of Crowsnest Pass near Island Lake Campground, according to RCMP. He was reported missing around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The five-year-old boy has a medical issue that might prevent him from responding to others, RCMP said in a statement released Sunday night.

“RCMP and conservation officers are on scene, joined by searchers from multiple agencies including Search and Rescue teams in Alberta and British Columbia,” the police agency added. “These searchers are being supported by drones, dogs, and helicopters.”
