A Midlothian carer got in a 'physical struggle' with a colleague and threatened to 'punch' them.

John Cook, a social care worker at Mears Supported Living in Dalkeith, was found to have been "cruel", "aggressive", and "threatening", according to a report.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) sanctioned him for 36 months for several incidents that took place throughout 2023.

Around March 15 of that year, Mr Cook was found to have gone to work while not on shift "to access medication administration documents in order to take photos of them" and then "enter into a physical struggle" with a colleague when he was told he was not allowed to take photos of documentation.

Mr Cook also said to another colleague that he would have "punched" the co-worker "if the new girl hadn’t been there
