A: Tomatoes are delicious and versatile, and many of us already have them in our gardens. They are fun and easy to save seeds from, especially if you find a variety you can’t live without.

For best results, select ripe fruits from healthy, vigorous plants. Cut them and scoop out the seeds along with their gel into a glass jar, add water to submerge the seeds, cover and let the mixture sit for three to five days. Stir or shake gently once or twice per day.
