Motorists have been advised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to ensure they have four vital items in their vehicles as the seasons transition. With autumn having officially begun today on September 22 and winter approaching on December 21, now is the ideal time to prepare for the roads. .
In a post on social media platform X, the DVSA urged drivers to keep their vehicles "emergency ready," highlighting that "just a few essentials could prepare you for the unexpected."
The agency identified the following four essential items:
A torch
Jump leads
Emergency food and water
A first aid kit
