Scuderia Ferrari 's Charles Leclerc faced a power unit issue for around 10 laps of his first stint at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, which reduced his chances of overtaking the cars in front. The midfield DRS train made it worse for the Monegasque driver to improve his position, eventually finishing the race in P9. This marks his second race where a car problem prevented him from finishing in a better position.

Leclerc started the race from P10, but his chances of advancing further improved after a safety car restart due to Oscar Piastri's crash. However, dirty air, combined with a power unit issue, ensured he struggled to overtake cars in front of him.
