CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) announced that starting Monday, all driver's education classroom instruction will return to an in-person format.

The RMV has communicated with driving schools and stakeholders about this transition, emphasizing that in-person learning enhances student engagement and learning outcomes. This change aims to provide equal opportunities for all schools and improve road safety.

The option for remote classes was initially introduced during the pandemic as an accommodation. However, effective September 22, all classes, including the parent class, will require a live instructor with a maximum of 30 students per class.
