WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Big E fair celebrated 'Salute to Springfield' on Monday, featuring a parade with Springfield city officials and local marching bands.

The event, held near the New Hampshire building, drew crowds of fairgoers proud of Springfield's heritage, known as 'The City of Firsts.' The parade included Springfield city officials, marching bands, and Colleens from previous years.

"My group actually missed out on the Big E because we didn't have a float---so it's like making up for lost time! It's an honor to represent Springfield and the greater area as a whole," said Emma Feeley, one of the Springfield Colleens, who participated in the parade with her sister Caitlyn Feeley.
