Three people - including two police officers - attended hospital after a crash on the A66 which closed the carriageway. Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision which occurred just after 12.15pm on Monday.

Pictures showed debris on the road and the crumpled front bumper of a police van in the westbound carriageway at the Middlesbrough Road roundabout at the top of Cargo Fleet Lane.. A Cleveland Police spokesperson said it was a two-vehicle collision involving a police van and a panel van with trailer.

The A66 westbound was closed, with a diversion along Middlesbrough Road. "Two police officers were taken to hospital to be checked over," said the spokesperson. The road was reopened just after 3pm.
