A number of rats were spotted in the shopping centre-turned park on Sunday (September 22) evening

Rats have been spotted running amok at Nottingham's Broad Marsh Green Heart park - with one man claiming he saw more than 100 at once.

People sitting, eating lunch, and enjoying rays of sunshine at the city centre outdoor space said it's frustrating the rodents were spotted, but believe the responsibility does not lie with the council who maintains the park .

Instead, city dwellers have called on people who use the park to take better care of it - including not littering leftover food and wrappers.

It comes after rats were spotted at the site of the former shopping centre on Sunday (September 22) evening at around 6:30pm.
