Hundreds gathered below a Nottingham tram line for an unauthorised street party which went on until 2am the following day. Late-night city dwellers gathered at the Sussex Street skate park off Cliff Road, by Nottingham College and the City of Caves , on Thursday evening (September 18) for a 'block party'.

A block party is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as "a party that is held outdoors in a street or other public place, often organised by the people living in the local area".

In promotional videos shared online to Instagram and TikTok before the event , the 'block party' is described as a 18+ event that runs from '11am to late' with an 'all-star DJ line-up'.
