CLEVELAND, Ohio — Deion Sanders confirmed on the New Heights Podcast Monday that his son Shedeur Sanders, did in fact, ask the Ravens not to draft him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, at No. 141 in the fifth round.
At the time, Shedeur was in the midst of arguably the biggest draft-day tumble in the NFL history.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter had reported when the Browns were playing in Baltimore in Week 2 that the Ravens planned to draft him at No. 141, but Shedeur, according to sources, “let it be known to Baltimore that he didn’t want to be on a roster with Lamar Jackson, where he wouldn’t have a chance to play anytime soon.”
