Meghalaya: FASTOM’s Vice President said the protest would continue until the government yields.

The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) today launched a peace rally followed by an indefinite sit-in demonstration, demanding upgradation of all ad-hoc teachers so that their salaries increase.

Around 2,000 teachers from across the state joined the agitation, stressing that their meagre salaries are no longer sufficient to cope with soaring living costs. FASTOM’s Vice President said the protest would continue until the government yields, adding that nearly 8,000 teachers are part of the movement.
