A Monroe County man is facing assault charges after shooting his 10-year-old stepson during a dispute at a Chestnuthill Township home, state police said.

Aside from the three counts of aggravated assault, 34-year-old Darius Oshan James, of the 100 block of Caddo Terrace in Albrightsville, also is charged with felony child endangerment; two counts misdemeanor reckless endangerment; and misdemeanor simple assault.

Court records indicate James turned himself in to authorities prior to being arraigned Friday before District Judge Phillip R. Riley. The judge denied bail and James was taken to the Monroe County jail.
