The grand inauguration of the newly renovated Mata Tripura Sundari Temple has sparked sharp criticism from the opposition after several leaders alleged that they were deliberately excluded from the event.

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman strongly rebuked the ruling party and the state government for not extending an invitation to opposition legislators. He accused the BJP-led administration of using the historic religious occasion for political mileage instead of treating it as a collective cultural event.

Earlier, TIPRA Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma had also criticized BJP’s administrative officials for not inviting him and his party colleagues to the ceremony, which was graced by the Prime Minister’s presence.
