BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — Drivers in Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 should expect lane closures and changing traffic patterns as multiple road projects continue across the region from Sept. 21 through Sept. 26.

Interstate 165

Bridges over the Green River in Butler County are undergoing a complete restoration. Northbound traffic has shifted to the southbound lanes, and the speed limit is reduced to 55 mph. Work is expected through fall 2026.

At Exit 7 (U.S. 231/Morgantown Road) in Bowling Green, the interchange is being converted to a Double Crossover Diamond (DCD) configuration. U.S. 231 remains open, but one lane in each direction is closed, and the speed limit is 35 mph. Completion is expected later this fall.
