SALT LAKE CITY – A vehicle fire on Highway 6 closed a portion of the highway Sunday morning.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, a vehicle fire on southbound lanes of the highway at milemarker 235 south of Helper has closed a portion of the highway.

Sgt. Alexander with the Utah Highway Patrol said a semitruck turned in front of another, and they collided.

One semitruck was then reportedly engulfed in flames, and the other blocked the road.

Alexander said there were minor injuries.

There was no estimated time frame for lanes to reopen at the time of publication. Officials said possible road repairs would be needed.
