WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) - A Waterville man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car Friday night in Waterville.

It happened at the intersection of Elm and Spring Streets.

Waterville Police say Thomas Hayes of Oakland was driving a car that struck Mark Meserve who police say was reportedly sitting in the road wearing dark clothing.

They say Meserve was flown to a Portland hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Hayes was not hurt.

There are no pending charges.
