LEE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — A woman was killed and three people seriously injured, one of whom is a 7-year-old child, after a crash at an intersection in Lee County on Sunday.

According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), the crash occurred around 2:12 p.m. on Route 58 at the intersection of Burning Well Road.

VSP reports a Nissan SUV was heading west on Route 58 when it approached the intersection. State police reported the Nissan was "unable to avoid a 2017 Lincoln which had pulled into the intersection from a stop sign."

The driver of the Nissan was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died due to her injuries. VSP identified her as Deborah Wires, 61, of Rose Hill, Virginia.
