Spanish Fort mayor delaying budget until November

Spanish Fort Mayor-elect Brad Bass won't be sworn in until Nov. 3, but he’s already being asked to take the reins on a key mayoral responsibility: preparing a city budget proposal.

As of last week, Mayor Mike McMillan has given Bass access to city department heads and fiscal records to begin the task of putting together a Fiscal Year 2026 budget proposal.
