Friday night, the Somerset Briar Jumpers traveled to Green County to take on the Dragons in their first district contest of the 2025 season. Behind the play of jack-of-all-trades Kris Hughes, who rushed for two scores, threw for one more and had a combined 192 yards, Somerset continued their winning streak with a 35-6 victory.
It was a successful first drive for the Jumpers that ended with a Hughes 18-yard rush to put the visitors on the board, and after a Julian Carroll PAT Somerset held a 7-0 lead about midway through the first quarter. Somerset forced a punt on the first Green County drive, but the Dragons soon had the ball back after a Darius Anderson interception.
