KANSAS CITY, Mo - A St. Joseph man has been convicted of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking and money laundering.
On Thursday a federal court found 32-year-old Montrez Dixon guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of a substance containing fentanyl and one count of conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering. Three co-defendants have already pleaded guilty in the case.
On July 29th, 2020, law enforcement recovered a package shipped to Kansas City from Arizona which contained 4,715 fentanyl pills. The investigation revealed that Dixon distributed this and other packages containing fentanyl pills to the Kansas City area. A search warrant on Dixon's resident in Los Angelese, California in 2022 revealed over 7,500 fentanyl pills and a firearm. He fled
