Leaf-peeping season is here, and a new ranking has named the Adirondacks one of the top destinations in the nation to see autumn’s colors.
USA Today ’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards placed the Adirondacks at No. 8 on its list of “Best Destinations for Fall Foliage.” Michigan’s Upper Peninsula took the top spot.
The nomination list was first determined by an expert panel, then opened to a nationwide reader vote.
“While the Adirondacks are a popular destination for outdoor lovers year-round, the region truly shines in the fall,” the publication wrote. “Picturesque hikes through forests, several annual fall festivals, and guided fall foliage bus tours make this a top spot for enjoying those vibrant autumn hues.”
