A hoard of guards headline the New Orleans Pelicans training camp roster for the 2025-26 season.

In addition to roster mainstays like Zion Williamson , Trey Murphy III, Dejounte Murray , Jordan Poole and Herb Jones, some younger players will have the opportunity to showcase their talents to the Pelicans and the rest of the NBA this season.

Among the training camp invites are former McNeese State forward Christian Shumate . He averaged 11.8 points and 7.7 rebounds for the Cowboys last season and was on the Pelicans' Summer League roster as well. The last McNeese State player to make an NBA roster was Trey Gilder in 2008 with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Jaden Springer, the former Tennessee guard, has also been invited to camp. Since 2021, Springer has played for the Philadelphia 76ers,
