PHOENIX — The average price for gas in the Valley is continuing to rise and costs are now about 50 cents higher compared to last year.

Prices have risen about 32 cents since last month, with Phoenix's average reaching $3.89 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's survey of over 1,000 stations in the Valley. The most expensive gas price in the Phoenix area is $4.79 per gallon.

Arizona's average gas price is listed at $3.60 per gallon, and Tucson's average is $3.23 per gallon.

Phoenix's average gas price is still significantly lower than the $4.96 average residents saw in September 2023.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said the national gas price has recently seen a slight increase but prices could soon start to dip.
