WEST GARDINER, Maine (WABI) - A man has been charged in connection with a crash in West Gardiner that left one person with serious injuries last week.
According to officials, a person was riding a bicycle on High Street on Wednesday when they were hit by a truck around 9 p.m.
The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office says 66-year-old Russell Farrin was driving the truck.
Authorities say Farrin had driven away from the scene by the time police arrived.
The bicyclist had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Police say Farrin turned himself in the day after the crash.
He’s charged with aggravated leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and failing to render aid.
His bail was set at $5,000.
