Climate Week is underway in New York City, with events in all five boroughs bringing together residents, business leaders and city officials to focus on solutions to climate change.
The week is designed to turn conversation into action, and this year’s theme — “Power On” — emphasizes moving beyond words to real changes that protect the planet.
Discussions will focus on cutting pollution, creating green jobs and ensuring a safe, sustainable future for the next generation. Organizers say this is the largest Climate Week yet in its 16-year history.
Rit Aggarwala, commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, joined the “Mornings On 1” team Monday to discuss the week's events.
