A man walking Sunday evening in northwestern Aurora was injured in a hit-and-run, and police are searching for the driver.

Aurora officers responded to the hit-and-run near Havana Street and Eighth Avenue at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday, police department spokesperson Joe Moylan said in an email to The Denver Post.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, was walking on the sidewalk along Havana when he was hit by a southbound vehicle, Moylan said. The driver then fled the scene.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital, and he is expected to survive, Moylan said.

No suspects had been publicly identified or arrested as of Monday morning. No vehicle information was available.
