COLUMBIA WATERFRONT — THE BROOKLYN MARINE TERMINAL Task Force voted 17-8 Monday in favor of a Vision Plan for the 122-acre maritime site stretching from Atlantic Avenue to Red Hook on the East River. Mayor Eric Adams, Gov. Kathy Hochul, New York City Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Andrew Kimball, U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman and state Sen. Andrew Gounardes jointly hailed the approval, saying the plan would “transform the dilapidated marine terminal into a 60-acre, all-electric maritime port that can, once again, serve as a key economic driver for the community and city.” The marine terminal itself will shrink to 60 acres, with the rest of the land going to 6,000 units of majority market-rate housing and parks.
