The U.S. Department of Justice announced a settlement agreement between Kansas City Kansas Community College and a former college dean and service member.

The DOJ said the settlement will "enforce the rights guaranteed" to Maj. Stephen W. Terry in accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994, or USERRA.
Terry served in the Kansas Army National Guard and previously worked as the dean of enrollment management and student services at KCKCC.
He was let go in February 2022, nearly eight months after he returned from military service, according to court documents.
