PIERRE, S.D. (KTIV) - South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden plans to address a joint session of the South Dakota Legislature during a special session on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The address is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT at the South Dakota House of Representatives. Once it begins, KTIV will stream the coverage through the video player at the top of this article.
This comes as Rhoden signed an executive proclamation announcing the date of a special session to consider and pass legislation for a new prison.
State officials say the South Dakota state penitentiary is more than 140 years old, and it needs to be replaced.
