HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Connecticut’s governor said that the Revolution Wind Project will resume.
Gov. Ned Lamont said the offshore wind project between Connecticut and Rhode Island will continue.
Work on it was halted over the summer following a stop work order from the Trump administration.
The administration said it stopped the project because of “concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States.”
Since then, both states sued the administration and sought ways to get the project back on track.
The project was designed to supply 350,000 homes with sustainable energy.
It was about 80 percent complete before the stop work order was issued.
